Street work will require closure of Leverett Avenue near the Kappa Kappa Gamma house in Fayetteville.

Leverett Avenue is scheduled to close for about eight weeks near the University of Arkansas campus to allow for a reconstruction project beginning today.
Beginning Aug. 2, door-to-door salespeople must adhere to new regulations in Fayetteville. Aldermen last week passed an ordinance requiring for-profit businesses to pay $40 each year for a permit and $5 for each door-to-door solicitor working inside the city limits.
Walton Arts Center officials last week released a ton of dates for music, comedy and children’s acts coming to Fayetteville this season.
Fayetteville City Clerk Sondra Smith was recently elected as president of the Arkansas City Clerks, Recorders, and Treasurer’s Association.
This week’s scheduled public meetings include the Planning Commission, a City Council agenda-setting session, the Active Transportation Advisory Committee and more.
