Ozark Slow Food will host a fundraiser for a new micro-grant program benefiting local farmers this weekend.
The event, called Fund Your Farmers, will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 at Greenhouse Grille.
Ozark Slow Food launched the new micro-grant program last year, and the first three awards as part of the program were given to local farms back in the spring. A project to expand chicken and duck egg availability at weekday farmers markets, new grow houses, and a system to protect local crops from wildlife were the first projects funded under the program.
The fundraiser on Sunday will include music by 3 Penny Acre, a silent auction, and 10 dishes created by five local chefs.
Tickets are $25, and all the proceeds benefit the micro-grant program. For more information, visit ozarkslowfood.org.
