City officials want to know what residents would like to see happen to the former Tyson factory property at Huntsville and Happy Hollow roads. A public input meeting is planned from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at Happy Hollow Elementary.
It’s time to fill some openings on six of Fayetteville’s volunteer boards, commissions and committees. The most recent list of vacancies include seats on the Animal Services Advisory Board, Historic District Commission, Town and Gown Advisory Committee and more.
Two women who reported being sexually assaulted along Wedington Drive were lying about the incident, police said. According to a 911 report, the women said they were walking near the Catfish Hole restaurant Tuesday night when they were knocked unconscious from behind and later raped in a nearby wooded area.
A man was in critical condition last week after being hit by two vehicles while crossing North College Avenue. Police said the man had just left Hooters and was crossing the road when he was struck by a Honda Accord and then by a Ford Econoline van.
