Nine streets in northeast Fayetteville are expected to close for a few hours this week while crews with Vance Brothers Inc. work to apply a microseal treatment to the road surface.

The 2013 Tontitown Grape Festival is set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. today. The full schedule includes carnival rides, an arts and crafts fair, a 5K walk/run, free live music and more.

The Fayetteville City Council meets tonight to discuss a possible Nov. 12 special election over using taxpayer money to help fund Walton Arts Center renovations and a regional park. Also on the agenda are contracts related to planned renovation of pool buildings at Wilson Park and more. Here’s the full agenda.

Besides City Council, this week’s scheduled public meetings include the Fayetteville Forward Inclusion Action Group, the Historic District Commission and more.
