Dunkin’ Donuts coming to Bentonville and Fayetteville

It’s been two years since Dunkin’ Donuts first announced plans to build seven restaurants in Northwest Arkansas, the first of which opened last year in Fort Smith.

It looks like the next two will be built in Bentonville and Fayetteville.

A tweet sent Monday from the newly created @DunkinNWA Twitter account shows a photo of the apparent construction site of the donut chain’s newest regional location, along with a message stating “Dunkin’ is coming to Bentonville.”

We don’t have confirmation yet, but city planning documents indicate the 2,400-square-foot restaurant will be built at 2309 Southeast 14th Street on land once home to a Spot-Not Car Wash next-door to E-Z Mart at Moberly Lane.

A source tells us Fayetteville’s location is next and will be built on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in front of The Domain apartments.

The Fort Smith location, which opened last May at 7401 Phoenix Ave., was the first Dunkin’ Donuts to open in the state in years. Up next were restaurants in Little Rock, Bryant and Conway. At least five more Northwest Arkansas locations are set to be built over the next five years.
