University of Arkansas police yesterday announced the arrest of a Springdale man after a year-long investigation into a rape on campus.
Police arrested Cesar Michael Figueroa, 22, was arrested in connection with a rape that occurred in university parking lot 14 on Sept. 2 the night after the first home football game.
Using DNA evidence collected during an investigation into the incident, police identified Figueroa as a suspect. Investigators said they discovered Figueroa was out of the state, but was due to return on Monday.
Figueroa is not affiliated with the university, according to a news release.
