Washington County Fair begins Tuesday, Aug. 27

For those who don’t get enough carnival rides and cotton candy at the annual Tontitown Grape Festival, there’s always the county fair just a few weeks later.

The 2013 Washington County Fair opens Tuesday, Aug. 27 on the fairgrounds at 2536 N. McConnell Ave. in Fayetteville.

Gates open at 10 a.m. daily through Saturday. Carnival rides start at 5 p.m. (noon on Saturday) and close at about 10 p.m.

Cost for adults is $5. Children ages 6 and under get in free.

Daily specials

Tuesday: Bring a canned food donation and enjoy $2 admission and $2 rides on Tuesday.
Wednesday: Students admitted free through 3 p.m. for livestock show day.
Thursday: Seniors ages 62 and older get in free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday: Get a $20 armband for unlimited rides with a Pepsi can from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. for Midnight Madness.
Saturday: Unlimited ride armbands are $15.
