A festival featuring some of the best mountain films in the world is soon coming to Fayetteville.

The mobile version of the Banff Mountain Film Festival takes place Sept. 12 and 13 at the UA Global Campus just off the downtown square.

The festival is an international film competition featuring movies on mountain subjects. That means climbing, mountain expeditions, remote cultures, and other mountain-related stuff. It began in 1976 and is held annually in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

The touring version set to stop in Fayetteville next month features the best films submitted to the festival. This year’s lineup includes Reel Rock 7, The Dream Factory, Flow Hunters, The Boy Who Flies, and others.

Several trailers for the individual films coming to this year’s festival are available at the event website. Doors open both nights at 5:30 p.m., and the films will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for single night events are $14 ($25 for both nights), on sale through Sept. 9 at fayettevillebanff.com.
