The University of Arkansas made good on its promise to begin removal of a temporary construction service road through Old Main lawn within two years.

A crew began rebuilding a stone retaining wall on the north side of Dickson Street last week that was first removed in September 2011 to create an entrance for the delivery of construction supplies to planned renovation and expansion projects of Vol Walker and Ozark halls.

Trucks and other service vehicles passed through the area where a fenced-in gravel path was built through Old Main lawn leading to the two construction sites near the east side of the university campus.

About 180 stones were recorded and removed from the wall in 2011 before being stored for the duration of the construction projects. As of Monday afternoon, nearly all of the stones had been put back into their original location.

Included below are photos of the newly renovated campus halls.
