Iowa-based convenience store chain Casey’s General Store recently broke ground on the company’s first Fayetteville location.

The new store is being built just off Interstate 540 at the corner of Wedington and Futrall drives.

Demolition of two buildings on the site, including the old Karstetter & Glass Body Shop, is already complete, and dirt work for the new store is underway.

Casey’s General Store locations are part convenience stores, part restaurants, that serve pizza, sandwiches, and other items.

The Wedington Drive location will become the fifteenth Casey’s General Store in Northwest Arkansas, according to the company’s website. The chain currently operates over 1,700 stores in 12 states across the country.
