Fayetteville residents awoke to a winter wonderland Friday morning.

Sleet that covered the area Thursday night turned to snow by early Friday causing another day of school and business closures throughout Northwest Arkansas.

The wintry weather is part of a wave of snow, sleet and ice that hit the region as Winter Storm Cleon sweeps across much of the U.S.

The National Weather Service is predicting highs of around 20 degrees today in Fayetteville, followed by wind chills below zero tonight.
