Update: Collections will resume Wednesday, Dec. 11, according to a city news release.

Trash, recycling and yard waste collections will be delayed this week due to the poor road conditions in Fayetteville.

Pickup was originally set to occur one day later than normal, but officials said late Monday that continued treacherous road conditions would cause further delays.

According to a city news release, crews with the city’s Solid Waste Division will reevaluate the roads Tuesday morning with hopes of resuming collections as soon as possible. Officials asked citizens to place all containers at the curb or designated service area so they’ll be ready when crews can safely make collections.

If pickups aren’t made by 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, there will be no charge for extra bags left at the curb next week, according to the release.

The North Street recycling drop-off center will open to the public at 8 a.m. this week instead of 6 a.m.
