Trash and recycling collections delayed this week in Fayetteville

All trash, recycling and yard waste collections are on hold until road conditions improve, Fayetteville officials said Monday.

Once collections resume, residents can expect a one-day delay from their regular scheduled day of service.

From a news release:

This schedule will depend upon safe road conditions. Considering the weight of the Solid Waste Trash Trucks and the dangers should the truck hit & damage an object as a result of loss of traction, along with the safety of the Solid Waste and Recycling workers is of great concern as their jobs require them to be outside and exposed to icy conditions – the safety risk is too great for operations to continue at this time.

The city’s transfer station and the Marion Orton Recycling Drop-Off Center at 735 W. North Street, will also be closed until road conditions improve.
