It wasn’t the Northern lights or a solar flare, and as far as we know, Fayetteville was not visited by aliens on Thursday night.

There was, however, a decidedly eerie green glow in the low clouds visible from all over the city last night. As it turns out, it was just the video display at Razorback Stadium.

UA athletics spokesman Kevin Trainor told 40/29 news that the department was running tests on the big screen.

“When you put green light or any color on the board without the full stadium lights it will have a glow,” he said.

Thanks for freaking everyone out, Kevin.

Local photographer Clayton Taylor captured a few photos of the weirdness last night. Check them out below.
