If you thought the Fayetteville Roots Festival was finished announcing artists for the 2014 event, you were wrong buddy. Dead wrong.

Building on an already solid lineup, organizers this week announced the addition of Muscle Shoals duo The Secret Sisters to the Friday night main stage lineup at the Walton Arts Center on Aug. 29.

The Secret Sisters, who are about to kick off a tour with recently-reunited Nickel Creek, will perform in Fayetteville with The Wood Brothers, Darrell Scott and Tim O’Brien, and Willie Watson (formerly of Old Crow Medicine Show).

They are set to release their new album Put Your Needle Down – produced by the legendary T. Bone Burnett – later this month.

“The Secret Sisters echo and promise better days,” Burnett said of the duo. “They are a breath of fresh air.”

The Fayetteville Roots Festival takes place at venues across Fayetteville Aug. 28-31, 2014.

Mainstage passes for the Friday and Saturday night headlining performances are $99, and individual nights are $49. To purchase, visit fayettevilleroots.com.
