Sub Pop recording artists The Head and the Heart are coming to Fayetteville next month.

The Seattle indie pop band will perform at the Washington County Fairgrounds on Thursday, May 1 as the University of Arkansas’ Headliner Committee’s spring concert.

The Head and the Heart released their self-titled debut in 2010 in hand-made denim sleeves. Record stores in Seattle couldn’t keep them in stock, and the band signed 10,000 copies of the record themselves before signing with the legendary Sub Pop records. Since then the band has blown up, releasing their second record Let’s Be Still in October and touring constantly throughout the US and Europe.

UA students may reserve tickets to the concert online for free at osa.uark.edu/ beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 through Monday, April 21 at 11:59 p.m. Student pick up is set for April 23-24 at the UA’s International Connections Lounge. Students must reserve a ticket online to pick one up, and a UA ID is required.

General public ticket sales begin on Saturday, April 19 at 12 p.m. at waltonartscenter.org. Tickets for the general public are $25 (plus fees.)

In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to Barnhill Arena.
