Birds of Chicago, The Apache Relay, Jackstraw added to Fayetteville Roots Festival lineup

Just when you thought the 2014 Fayetteville Roots Festival lineup couldn’t get any better, the organizers went and added three more excellent artists to the roster.

Recently announced additions to the already stellar lineup include Americana-indie-soul duo Birds of Chicago, Nashville-based indie-roots band The Apache Relay, and Portland blue-grassers, Jackstraw.

Birds of Chicago will play a Sunday night at George’s and a special soon-to-be announced Monday event at Crystal Bridges on Labor Day.

The Apache Relay is set to play two sets, one on Thursday night at George’s with The Wood Brothers, and on Friday afternoon at Starr Theatre inside the Walton Arts Center.

Jackstraw will play two sets as well, on Saturday and Sunday night at Maxine’s Tap Room.

The Fayetteville Roots Festival takes place at venues across Fayetteville Aug. 28-31, 2014. According to organizer Bryan Hembree, the full lineup complete with specific performance times, is nearly complete should be released in the coming weeks.
