The sun is up on another day at Wakarusa, and Friday’s lineup might just be the best of the fest.
Mainstage acts on Friday night include New York funk band, Lettuce (4 p.m.), Philadelphia poppers Dr. Dog (5:45 p.m.), another appearance by California electronic band STS9 (7:45 p.m.), and Oklahoma experimental rockers, The Flaming Lips (10 p.m.).
There are back-to-back rock shows in the revival tent with Murder by Death (5:30 p.m.) and J. Roddy Walston & The Business (7:15 p.m.) that are definitely worth checking out.
If you missed St. Paul & The Broken Bones on Thursday, you can see them at 4:15 on the intimate, wooded Backwoods Stage.
There are some good late night shows as well, with The String Cheese Incident (midnight) and The Floozies (2 a.m.) in the Revival tent, and Infected Mushroom FUNGUSAMONGUS on the main stage beginning at 12:45 p.m.
We didn’t notice any local bands on the lineup for Friday night, but frequent visitors to Fayetteville, The Ben Miller Band, will perform at 12:30 a.m. on the Backwoods stage.
