Plans are off for The Cottages, a 702-bedroom student housing development proposed in west Fayetteville.

Capstone Collegiate Communities is no longer under contract to buy 23 acres of the Marinoni family’s 108-acre property along Wedington Drive and Interstate 49.

The Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission last week voted to hire the Bassett Law Firm as the commission’s new legal counsel.

Adella Gray announced last week she’ll run for a third term on the Fayetteville City Council.

Also last week, Ward 3 representative Justin Tennant became the final alderman to announce his intent to run for re-election.

The Arkansas women’s track and field team finished ninth at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Arkansas junior Stanley Kebenei helped push Arkansas into a ninth-place finish in the men’s team standings with a runner-up finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
