Good news local theatre fans. There’s a new company of players in town.

The new group is calling themselves The Crude Mechanicals, and they’ll make their debut on June 29 at Gulley Park in Fayetteville with their version of the Shakespeare classic, Romeo and Juliet.

The company is made up of actors Keefer Dean Roach, Haley Zega, Kara George, Zach Stolz, and Chris Jordan, all current students or recent theatre graduates from the University of Arkansas and Pace University in New York City. The group was founded on the idea that “anyone should have the opportunity to experience the magic of Shakespeare without ticket cost being a barrier to access.”

Along those lines, the company plans to make all of their shows available to the public free of charge.

After the debut performance on June 29, future performances are scheduled on July 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9. All of the shows will start at 7 p.m. at the gazebo at Gulley Park in Fayetteville.
