A state construction project will close Crossover Road to through traffic between Joyce Boulevard in north Fayetteville and Don Tyson Parkway in Springdale through the end of the month, according to highway officials.

The road closure will allow for the removal of an existing drainage structure and for bridge construction at Clear Creek. Local traffic will be allowed to use the highway to access their residence or business but no through traffic will be allowed.

A detour route utilizing Joyce Boulevard and Don Tyson Parkway will be marked with appropriate signage. Truck traffic will not be allowed on the detour portion of the Don Tyson Parkway.

The road closure is expected to remain in place through July 29.

The work is part of the Arkansas 265 improvement project, which will widen the existing highway to four lanes with a grass median, including bike lanes in both directions from Joyce Boulevard to Ivey Lane in Springdale.

Crossover was recently widened between Mission and Joyce boulevards. The plan is to eventually extend the project south to Huntsville Road, and north to Rogers.
