Police identify woman found dead in south Fayetteville creek

Police have identified a woman found dead in a creek in south Fayetteville last week.

According to police, Patricia Sprouse, 30, of Fayetteville, was found face down in the water near 219 E. 15th St. early Wednesday, July 2.

Officials said there were no signs of foul play, but police found three bottles of Dust-Off near Sprouse’s body. The product is a brand of refrigerant-based propellant used to remove dust and dirt from hard-to-reach areas of computers, components and other electronic equipment.

The Arkansas State Crime Lab confirmed Sprouse’s identity and determined the cause of death as drowning and difluoroethane toxicity from the inhalation of the Dust-Off product.
