The city’s “Meet Your Trails” series continues this weekend with a bicycle tour of the recently completed Clear Creek Trail in north Fayetteville.

The once-a-month summer series is designed to introduce residents to trails they might not know about yet.

The tour is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, July 19 at the northwest corner of the Northwest Arkansas Mall parking lot by JCPenney.

The 7.4-mile round-trip tour, led by city accounting manager Shelly Turberville, will include portions of the Mud Creek and Scull Creek trails.

Clear Creek Trail is part of the Razorback Regional Greenway, a 36-mile trail that will connect south Fayetteville to north Bentonville, and is funded by a grant from the Walton Family Foundation.

The new trail is a joint project with the city of Johnson. It extends east from Scull Creek Trail along Clear Creek just north of the Northwest Arkansas Mall. It passes under North College Avenue near Lokomotion Family Fun Park to connect to the Lake Fayetteville Trail at the south end of the spillway bridge.

From the city:

As always, we ask that you follow bike safety procedures. Please note that helmets are not required for this ride, but are encouraged.

Water will be provided thanks to Fayetteville’s Recycle Something campaign. If you have any questions about different ways to recycle in Fayetteville please visit their website at http://recyclesomething.org/.

The event is free and open to the public.
