Friday events, July 25

Arkansas Support Network is hosting a benefit on Friday night at the Fayetteville Town Center, featuring a talk with former Arkansas basketball coach Nolan Richardson. The event also includes a silent auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, and music by The Mike Harrod Band. Here’s more info.

There are a couple interesting reunion shows on Friday night. Local band Hot Shot Karate will reunite for a one-night-only show at Ryleigh’s with High Lonesome, and early 2000s band Deacon will also be back together for a show at George’s with fellow locals, Groovement.

Smoke & Barrel has a rock show with locals Dead Indian and Chasing Pictures, and The Chads, Rough Stax, and Ten High are at The Lightbulb Club.

There’s music at Fayetteville Underground Saturday night with local Balkan/Turkish folk band Ozarka Orkestra, and songwriters Zac Slusher, Adam Cox, and Caleb Ryan Martin.

Austin-based American band Union Specific is set to perform at Smoke & Barrel Saturday night.

The Lightbulb Club has a four-band bill, with locals Dividend and High Lonesome, and Austin pop/rock bands MILEZO and Marmalakes.

There’s a benefit dance party at Bottle Rocket Gallery on Saturday night as well called Sex Machine Dance Party, featuring music by DJ Robe Flax. All the proceeds from the event benefit future art shows at the gallery.
