A portion of Scull Creek Trail will close next week while crews with the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad work on the railroad trestle bridge under Gregg Avenue near Gordon Long Park.

Work will begin early Monday, Aug. 4 and wrap up sometime the following evening on Tuesday, Aug. 5, according to a city news release.

Trail users can follow a detour route along the 8-foot sidewalk on the east side of Gregg Avenue to the crossing at Jocelyn Lane where a low water bridge ties into Scull Creek Trail.

There is no crosswalk at Jocelyn Lane, so residents are urged to use caution when crossing Gregg Avenue.

Matt Mihalevich, trails coordinator, said signs will be installed to direct trail traffic through the detour zone and to warn motorists of the increased pedestrian and bicycle presence.
