Little Rock songwriter Kevin Kerby, known for his work in alt-country outfit, Mulehead, will play a happy hour set at Smoke & Barrel on Friday night.

Also during happy hour, local favorites Big Uns will play at 6 p.m. at George’s Majestic Lounge.

The Toadies

Dallas-based alt-rock band The Toadies are in town for a show Saturday night at George’s. The band is touring in support of the 20th anniversary of their hit, Rubberneck. Whoa. Austin band Ume and locals Benjamin Del Shreve will open the show.

Art Amiss is holding their second album release party for their new compilation with a show at The Lightbulb Club featuring locals Dead Indian, Shook Yank, Auric, and Peace of the Sea. Here’s more info about the new compilation.

Actor, comedian, author, and banjo-shredder Steve Martin will be at the AMP Sunday night with frequent collaborator, Edie Brickell.

Want to be part of a new local radio show? Maxine’s Sunday Night Service is still recording for their new show on KUAF set to begin this fall. This week, they’ll host their Singled Out show, featuring individual performances by members of popular local bands. This week’s band is local bluegrass group, Cutty Rye.
