Washington County Fair begins Tuesday

If you missed the carnival rides and cotton candy earlier this month at the Tontitown Grape Festival, there’s always the county fair.

The 2014 Washington County Fair opens Tuesday, Aug. 26 on the fairgrounds at 2536 N. McConnell Ave. in Fayetteville.

Gates open at 10 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Carnival rides start at 5 p.m. (noon on Saturday) and close at about 10 p.m.

Cost for adults is $5. Children ages 6 and under get in free.

Daily specials

Tuesday: Entry is $2 and rides are $2 with a canned food donation at the gate
Wednesday: Kids get in free 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thursday: Ages 62 and older get in free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: Midnight Madness armbands are $20 with a Pepsi can
