It’s Thursday, Sept. 4, and that means it’s time for First Thursday Fayetteville, the city’s monthly art walk and festival on the downtown square.

Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan has selected 19 people to help provide input on how to implement the city’s new anti-discrimination ordinance. Planners also released some research in preparation for the meeting.

Residents are invited to work alongside biologists and conservation experts to help identify as many organisms as can be found this weekend on Mount Kessler.

Volunteers are needed to help clean areas along the Town Branch from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in south Fayetteville.

You’ve got until tomorrow afternoon to enter our ticket giveaway for The Avett Brothers show on Sept. 26 at the AMP.
