Walton Arts Center will kick off the 10 x 10 Art Series season with a performance by Chicago-based multicultural band Funkadesi next month.
The band, known for its unique blend of musical styles, combining Indian music — bhangra, Bollywood, Indian folk — with reggae, funk, and Afro-Caribbean grooves, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3.
As will all 10 x 10 shows, tickets start at only $10.

How to enter
Funkadesi is known for combining an incredibly wide range of cultural musical influences into a cohesive, funky musical identity all its own.
Leave a comment telling us a mashup of two musical styles that you’ve never heard combined that you think might sound good together, and you’re entered. Is it hair metal-classical? Opera-rap? Country-funk? Make something up, and you’re entered.
What you’ll win
One lucky winner will win two tickets to the Funkadesi performance set for 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Walton Arts Center.
A few rules (read ‘em carefully):
- You may only enter this specific contest once.
- This contest is open to anyone anywhere except Fayetteville Flyer writers, Walton Arts Center employees, and their immediate family members.
- Contest is open until noon p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22.

Once we notify the winners, you’ll have 24 hours to respond via email to claim your prize. - You’ll have to provide us with your first and last name (if you win) and then be prepared to show a valid photo ID when picking up your tickets.
