Award-winning children’s author Jacqueline Woodson is set to appear in Fayetteville this weekend.

The author, who has written 27 titles for children and young adults, will speak at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at the Fayetteville Public Library.

Some of her titles include Each Kindness, Beneath the Meth Moon, Feathers, and Miracle’s Boys, the last of which was adapted into a miniseries directed by Spike Lee.

Woodson’s appearance is part of the True Lit Festival, an annual, multi-day festival featuring author talks, readings and writing workshops. The event was created last year through a partnership between the Fayetteville Public Library, Fayetteville Public Schools, Fayetteville Education Foundation, and Fayetteville Montessori School.
