New Flyer Sponsor: Wood | Stone Craft Pizza

What do you get when two of the best local chefs from one of the most delicious restaurants in town decide to apply their penchant for fresh, local and organic ingredients to a wood-fired pizza and craft beer joint?

K-BBQ Pizza from Wood | Stone

It’s not a riddle. That’s exactly what happened in the Mill District in Fayetteville recently, and the result, as far as we’re concerned, is some very tasty pizza.

Of course, we’re talking about Wood | Stone Craft Pizza, a new project by Greenhouse Grille owners Clayton Suttle and Jerrmy Gawthrop.

As anyone who’s familiar with Greenhouse Grille knows, no matter what these guys do, they do it the right way. So when we heard they were getting into the pizza business, we knew Fayetteville was in for a treat.

As predicted, Gawthrop and Suttle went all out with Wood | Stone. They imported a wood-fired brick pizza oven from Italy. They spent time in New York with some of the best pizza chefs in the world to learn the craft before they opened the restaurant.

They completely renovated a cool space in the Mill District into a clean-lined, modern, well-lit atmosphere with a great selection of beer and wine, and an awesome outdoor patio along Frisco Trail.

And the menu? It’s as artfully crafted as the concept itself.

Every pizza that comes out of the kitchen looks like it was specially created for a magazine photo shoot. The specialty pizzas range from simple, classic pepperoni made with uncured, naturally-made pepperoni, to the inspired T.H.I.S.S.S (Tangy, Herby, Infused, Spicy, Salty, and Sweet) featuring a white pear jam base, goat cheese, olive oil, proscuitto, parmesan, arugula, and balsamic reduction.

The beer list features a carefully curated selection of some of the best local and regional craft brews available.

The restaurant also offers a menu of excellent wines, craft cocktails, and “boozy floats” made with locally-infused syrups and liquors.

It’s an awesome place, and we’re thrilled that after working with Jerrmy and Clayton for years with Greenhouse Grille (they’re one of our oldest sponsors), they’ve also decided to sign up their brand new business to sponsor the Flyer as well.

We hope you’ll help welcome Wood | Stone to the Flyer family by stopping by for some of the best pizza you’ll ever put in your mouth.
