Friday events, Oct. 17

Blue Collar comedian Bill Engvall will perform two sets at the Walton Arts Center Friday night, one at 7 p.m. and one at 9:30 p.m. Ticket info is here.

The annual Yonder Mountain String Band Harvest Music Festival continues on the Mulberry Mountain Friday night. Headliners include Carolina Chocolate Drops, Split Lip Rayfield, and Yonder Mountain String Band. Here’s the full schedule.

There’s a rock show at The Lightbulb Club, with locals Ten High, Peace Boner, and Pagiins.

TheatreSquared will debut a new show this week as well, with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning show, Proof at Nadine Baum Studios. Performances are scheduled throughout the weekend.

Saturday events, Oct. 18

Harvest Festival headliners on Saturday include Lettuce, Railroad Earth, and Yonder Mountain String Band.

The Art Experience’s annual Puppets in the Park event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at Wilson Park. There will be music, giant puppets, and plenty of other family friendly activities. More info is here.

If you like metal, you’re already heading to George’s Saturday night. There are 14 metal bands playing on both stages beginning at 6 p.m. for $5 at the venue for an event called NWA Metal Fest. Here’s the lineup.

Instrumental rock/fusion band TAUK, who is in town for Harvest Fest, will play a club show in town while they’re here as well with a date scheduled at Smoke & Barrel on Saturday with locals, Galaxy Tour Guides.

Also Saturday night, locals Friday, Maybe Saturday are at Ryleighs.
