Workers clear debris near the corner of Block Avenue and Spring Street in an effort to restore power to the downtown Fayetteville area

About 700 SWEPCO customers in Fayetteville are without power due to an outage that occurred at around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
The outage was concentrated in the downtown Fayetteville area. Workers with the utility company were seen clearing debris around a power line near the corner of Block Avenue and Spring Street that could have caused the outage.

A worker estimated power would be restored to the area at around 4:30 or 5 p.m.
