Power outage reported in downtown Fayetteville

About 700 SWEPCO customers in Fayetteville are without power due to an outage that occurred at around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.

The outage was concentrated in the downtown Fayetteville area. Workers with the utility company were seen clearing debris around a power line near the corner of Block Avenue and Spring Street that could have caused the outage.

A worker estimated power would be restored to the area at around 4:30 or 5 p.m.
