Walton Arts Center announces VoiceJam a capella festival

With the popularity of films like Pitch Perfect (directed by Fayetteville’s own Jason Moore) and television shows like Glee, a cappella is kind of a thing in poplar culture these days.

This spring, the Walton Arts Center will capitalize on that popularity with the first ever VoiceJam a cappella festival, set for April 10-11 in Fayetteville.

The festival will include competitions, workshops, and master classes by collegiate and community competitors, as well as performances by award-winning a cappella quintets The House Jacks and Voco Novo.

The festival’s main event will be a Friday night competition featuring six groups from around the country competing for the VoiceJam crown.

The event will be hosted by Deke Sharon, producer of NBC’s The Sing Off and recently dubbed “the father of contemporary a cappella” by Entertainment Weekly.

A list of events is below, and tickets to single events as well as weekend passes are available at waltonartscenter.org.
