Hawaiian Brian’s moving to the Fayetteville square

Fayetteville’s undisputed favorite Hawaiian restaurant is getting a new home.

Hawaiian Brian’s, the restaurant that started in an Airstream trailer at the Yacht Club mobile business park, is moving from their Evelyn Hills location into a space at 25 E. Center st., just off the Fayetteville square.

The new space was most recently home to Celi’s/Oseguera’s. Ironically, the Evelyn Hills location that they’re moving from was preceded by the very same restaurant, who made the same move in 2009 before eventually closing for good last year.

Hawaiian Brians is owned by husband and wife team Michael and Shanea Holmbeck. Michael is a native Hawaiian, and the restaurant serves recipes he grew up eating in the Kahuku community on the island of Oahu as a child.

Shanea said the new place will serve the same menu, but will add a full “Tiki” bar, a pool table, and will host occasional events such as a stand up comedy night at the new location. The new space also has an upstairs area available for private parties.

The restaurant closed at their old location on Feb. 7, and the Holmbecks have been frantically moving and working to get set up in the new space.

If all goes well, they could be open at the new location as early as this weekend.
