PHOTOS: Winter weather covers roads with snow and ice

  • By Todd Gill · Monday, Feb 16, 2015

Fayetteville roads were covered with snow and ice Monday morning after a winter storm rolled through the area late Sunday night.

“Don’t get out unless you have to,” said Mayor Lioneld Jordan in a Facebook post early Monday. “Our crews are working around-the-clock shifts until the roads are cleared.”

Jordan said workers will first focus on clearing the main roads using the city’s 11 snow plows, grit trucks, brine trucks, and belly plow. He said while crews were able to pre-treat the streets on Sunday, a second round of expected precipitation could slow the process a bit.

Here are a few photos taken during our commute to the office this morning.
