Michael Qualls wasn’t the only one who made it onto SportsCenter last night.
Long before Qualls’ latest Top Ten dunk slammed through the net, a senior civil engineering major named Brendan Oman rocked Bud Walton Arena with an ESPN highlight of his own.
Oman was selected for the Arkansas Federal Credit Union Bank Shot challenge, a competition that took place during the final timeout before halftime during the Razorbacks’ 84-69 win over Missouri Wednesday night.
During the event, competitors must make two shots from under the basket followed by a successful free throw before being eligible for a half-court attempt worth $5,000.
Oman sunk the first two shots and then got a lucky bounce on the rim to seal the deal at the free throw line. Despite the pressure of an arena full of screaming fans, Oman’s half-court shot was a perfect swish. The crowd went nuts.

He ended the night with an extra $5,000 in his pocket and the No. 10 spot on the ESPN SportsCenter Top Ten highlight reel.
Oman was showered with congratulations on Twitter, including a nod from Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson.
