This week at the WAC: Rhonda Vincent, The Australian Bee Gees and more

The “Queen of Bluegrass,” the Australian version of the Bee Gees, another sing-along movie night, and a kid-friendly show are coming to the Walton Arts Center this week.

Acclaimed bluegrass artist Rhonda Vincent, dubbed the “Queen of Bluegrass” by the Wall Street Journal, will perform with her band the Rage at the arts center at 7 p.m. on Thursday night. Tickets range from $17-37, and there are still some available.

On Friday, the Australian Bee Gees will pay tribute to the 70s disco band with a night of danceable tunes beginning at 8 p.m. The show is produced by the folks behind Rain, the popular tribute to the Beatles. Tickets are $22-52.

Saturday night, the arts center will kick off their upcoming VoiceJam a cappella festival with a sing-along movie night featuring the 2012 film, Pitch Perfect. Also that evening, arts center officials will announce the competition finalists for the first year festival, set for April 10-11 in Fayetteville. Tickets to the movie night are $12, and it all starts at 8 p.m..

Finally, there’s a family-friendly show on Sunday afternoon with Lightwire Theater performing the classic fables The Ugly Duckling and The Tortoise and the Hare. Tickets are $8, and the show starts at 2 p.m.
