Northwest Arkansas Championship Adds Food Festival To Lineup In 2015

This year’s NW Arkansas Championship LPGA golf tournament just got a lot more delicious.

Tournament organizers recently announced the event has added a two-day food festival to the 2015 lineup.

The festival, to be called the NW Arkansas Food Festival, is set for June 25-26 at the AMP.

“In its ninth year, the tournament hopes to engage a broader audience in the community and continue to showcase Northwest Arkansas as a great place to live and work,” said tournament director Harry Hardy. “Culinary is the next step for us as we bring the region together to highlight the best food, brews, restaurants, ingredients and chefs Northwest Arkansas has to offer.”

The first night of the festival, on Thursday, June 25 will be themed “Taste of NW Arkansas,” hosted by celebrity chef Carla Hall of the ABC Television show, The Chew. The “grand tasting-style” event will featuring a sampling of southern comfort food prepared by chefs from around the region.

The second night, on Friday, June 26, is called NW Arkansas Beer & Burger Fest. The evening will highlight beer from local breweries, burgers from local restaurants, and live music. Also that evening, a local brewery will be crowned “Best Beer of the Natural State,” and awarded a $5,000 cash prize.

Only 1,000 tickets will be available to the public for each event.

Ticket prices for the Taste of NW Arkansas are set at $30 for an individual, $50 per couple, and $20 for children and young adults 12-20.

Tickets to NW Arkansas Beer & Burger Fest are $30 for an individual, $50 per couple, and $15 for a burger-only ticket. Attendees must be 21 or older for the Friday night event.

The NW Arkansas Championship is set for August 22-28 at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers.
