Downtown Marvin’s IGA Store Closed For Remodeling

  • By Dustin Bartholomew · Tuesday, Apr 21, 2015

Downtown Fayetteville residents that typically shop at the Marvin’s IGA grocery store at the corner of College Avenue and Lafayette Street will have to travel a bit farther for their groceries for a few weeks.

Management announced this week via exterior signs posted at the entrances that the store will be closed for remodeling through May 1.

Workers have been in the store, located at 380 College Ave., for the last several weeks removing old signage and moving shelves and coolers around. An employee of the store last week told us that a major renovation was in the works, but the manager was not available and has not returned our messages for comment.

The signs announcing the closure directed shoppers to IGA’s nearby South Fayetteville location at 1620 S. School while the remodel is underway.
