NWA Center for Equality announces 2015 Pride Events

The Northwest Arkansas Center for Equality this week announced the schedule for the 2015 NWA Pride festivities.

The ninth annual event is scheduled for June 25-28 at various locations around the region, and includes several parties, a pub crawl, the annual NWA Pride Parade, and other events supporting the “Equality for All” theme.

The event will be headlined by the NWA Pride Parade, set for Saturday, Jun 27 on Dickson Street. Cheryl Maples and Jack Wagoner, attorneys who represented plaintiffs in the case against Arkansas’ same-sex marriage ban, will serve as grand marshals in the parade.

Thursday, June 25

Out at the Ballpark: Northwest Arkansas Naturals vs. Tulsa Drillers
Time: 7:05 p.m.
Location: Arvest Ballpark (3000 S. 56th Street, Springdale)

Friday, June 26

Pride Pub Crawl and C4 After Party
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Pub crawl begins at Jose’s (324 W Dickson St.), after party at C4 Lounge 509 W. Spring Street, Suite 250)
Fayetteville
Info: Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Participants receive an official t-shirt. Enjoy drink specials at an array of downtown Fayetteville bars. There’s also a special show at C4 featuring Taylor Madison Monroe, Karmin LaChappelle, The Lady Kakes, the reigning Miss Gay Arkansas America Ambrosia Bordeaux, and Tulsa LGBTQ rap sensation $erious $tanley. Must be 21 years or older to participate in the crawl and 18 years or older to enter C4 Lounge.

Saturday, June 27

Northwest Arkansas Pride Parade
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: Dickson Street, Fayetteville
Info: Parade Grand Marshals are Cheryl Maples and Jack Wagoner, who represented plaintiffs in the historic case that struck down Arkansas’ Amendment 83. Their plea in 2014 on behalf of couples who wanted to marry, or adopt, or have their out-of-state marriages recognized in Arkansas opened the door for LGBTQ couples to marry. Route travels westward down Dickson Street to the Walton Arts Center parking lot. Line-up begins at 8 a.m. behind Fresco Cafe, in the parking lot at the corner of Meadow and Church.

NWA Pride Rally and Festival
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Wilson Park, Fayetteville
Info: Free community celebration featuring live music by Voxanna and an annual proclamation by the Mayor of Fayetteville. Lunch at this family friendly event provided by Backyard Burger, PepsiCo, Sam’s Club, and the NWA Center for Equality. Learn about local organizations and ways to help advance equality in Northwest Arkansas.

5th Annual White Party
Time: 9 p.m.
Location: C4 Nightclub & Lounge (509 W. Spring Street, Suite 250)
Fayetteville
Info: Tickets start at $10. Arkansas’ largest LGBTQA party. Must be 18+ to enter. Tickets start at $10. Proceeds directly fund the growth and expansion efforts of the Northwest Arkansas Pride events and the programs of the NWA Center for Equality.

Sunday, June 28th

Pride Brunch – Bentonville
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Table Mesa Bistro (108 E. Central Avenue, Bentonville)
