CDBG community picnic planned Friday at Walker Park

The city’s annual “CDBG in the Park” community picnic is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 17 in the large pavilion at Walker Park in Fayetteville.

Staff from the Community Resources Division will serve free hot dogs and drinks to citizens, and will answer questions about the city’s Community Development Block Grant program.

The event is free and open to the public. Ice cream and snacks will be provided by Hiland Dairy and Little Debbie. Well-behaved pets are also welcome.

The program, which provides financial help for neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and housing rehabilitation for low- to moderate-income residents, is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
