Warren Haynes, Karl Denson added to 2015 Phases of the Moon lineup

  • By Todd Gill · Wednesday, Jul 29, 2015

Five more artists were added to the lineup for the 2015 Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival, officials announced this week.

Joining the lineup this year are Warren Haynes & The Ashes & Dust Band, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Birdcloud, Blaine Cartwright, and The Dropper.

The three-day music and arts festival is set for Oct. 16-18 on Mulberry Mountain near Ozark, Arkansas.

The lineup features nearly 80 artists, including headliners The Disco Biscuits, STS9 “Axe the Cables,” moe., Yonder Mountain String Band, and Beats Antique.

The second-year event was moved from Illinois to Arkansas, and replaces the Harvest Music Festival which also took place on Mulberry Mountain.

According to organizers, this year’s event will include a rare STS9 set of “Axe The Cables,” and a host of performing artists including aerialists, fire spinners, hoopers, jugglers, and stilt walkers. Expect to find large interactive sculptures, installations, and live art from renowned national and local artists.

A kids camp, a farmers market, and a non-profit village are also planned, and as with any Mulberry Mountain event, folks can enjoy the usual amenities like hiking trails and disc golf.

Tickets are on sale now, and cost $179.95 for a three-day pass or $148.45 for a weekender pass. Camping or parking passes are also required.

From a news release:

Grammy Award-winning artist Warren Haynes has been recognized as a cornerstone of the American music landscape and revered as one of the finest guitar players in the world. Throughout his prolific career he has been an integral part of three of the greatest live groups in rock history – The Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule and the Dead.

Fresh off the Rolling Stones tour, legendary saxophonist Karl Denson has been getting crowds around the world out on the dance floor. Approaching iconic status, Denson has moved bodies and minds dating back to his earliest years with Lenny Kravitz’s band through his ongoing tenure as a founding member of seminal boogaloo revivalists The Greyboy Allstars. He continues to move forward with his current role as a member of San Diego dub rockers Slightly Stoopid and iconic rock legends, The Rolling Stones.
