There are a ton of things to love about Fayetteville.

The friendly Southern people that live here. The views you can find atop the city’s seven hills. The parks, the trails, and the natural beauty of Northwest Arkansas.

The four distinct seasons that break the monotony, each bringing with them something to look forward to.

The energy and buzz created in the city when the University of Arkansas students come back to town in the fall. The foliage. The farmers’ market. We love all of these things.

Another thing we love about this place is the independent spirit of the city, and the unique local businesses that exist only in Fayetteville. We also love the way that residents here seem to embrace these local places.

That independent spirit is embodied in the newest sponsor of the Flyer, Something Urban!

The store has been in business for nearly 15 years, and was founded and run by local resident Amy White for much of that time.

So many Razorback game day outfits to choose from

Just a few years ago, White sold the store to another Arkansas girl with an eye for fashion, Megan Kelsey, and Megan has been working incredibly hard to continue and build upon the legacy that Amy created as one of the first modern independent women’s boutiques in Fayetteville.

The store is located at 643 W. Dickson, just down the hill from the University of Arkansas, and specializes in fashionable yet affordable women’s clothing.

Megan carries everything from dresses to denim, printed t-shirts and tank tops to dressed-up tops, great shoes, swimwear, accessories, and more.

She recently unveiled a huge game-day line, featuring tons of Razorback-Red dresses and t-shirts for those looking to dress-to-impress at the upcoming tailgate parties and game days ahead this fall.

Also new in the store is a line of men’s apparel, with some great t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, shoes, and more for the fellas.

New t-shirts for guys

Those who are familiar with the store know about its history as a supporter and advocate for animals, and Megan has continued that tradition as well. She still carries a line of pet accessories and clothing, and the store still accepts donations daily for the Humane Society of the Ozarks.

This week (Aug. 23-29), Something Urban is having a huge Back-To-School sale, offering 20% off your entire purchase with a student ID in store. They’re also offering the same discount on purchases through their newly redesigned website with the offer code “Back 2 School.”

We’re excited to be working with them, and hope you’ll help us welcome them to the Flyer family by stopping by to see all the new stuff in the store, and checking out all the great new apparel and accessories on the website!
