  • By Dustin Bartholomew · Wednesday, Aug 26, 2015

The sun sets over the carnival at the Washington County Fair.

Facebook

Who’s ready to eat some fried food on a stick, check out some farm animals, and ride some carnival rides at the Washington County Fair?

We ask, because it is coming up Sept. 1-5, and all of those things and more will be available in abundance.

Some livestock judging events for this year’s fair will start Aug. 28, but the carnival portion won’t kick off until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.

That night is “Two Dollar Tuesday,” with $2 gate fee, and $2 rides all night when you bring a canned food item.

Friday is “Midnight Madness” from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m., and armbands good for unlimited rides available for $20 when you bring a Pepsi can.

Armbands will also be on sale on “Sizzling Saturday” for $20 w/ a Pepsi can.

This year, the folks from the fair have given us four pairs of ride passes (good for 8 rides each) to pass on to our readers.

Enter to win them below, why don’t you?

How to enter

Leave a comment telling us your favorite attraction at the Washington County Fair. Is it the Ferris wheel? The Tilt-a-Whirl? The corn dogs? Is it Knife Game? Let us know, and you’re entered.

What you’ll win

Four (4) winners chosen at random will win two (2) passes worth 8 rides each on the Midway. Note: Gate admission to the fair is not included.

A few rules (read ‘em carefully):

  • You may only enter this specific contest once.
  • This contest is open to anyone anywhere except Fayetteville Flyer writers, Washington County Fair employees and their immediate family members.
  • Contest is open until 5 p.m. CST on Thursday, Aug. 27
Make sure you leave a valid e-mail address when filling out the comment form since that’s how we’ll contact you if you’ve won. Once we notify the winners, you’ll have 24 hours to respond via email to claim your prize.
  • You’ll have to provide us with your first and last name (if you win) and then be prepared to show a valid photo ID when picking up your passes.
