Phases of the Moon festival canceled

  • By Todd Gill · Tuesday, Sep 1, 2015

The Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival scheduled for October has been canceled.

“Unfortunately, due to a significant number of unforeseen obstacles, including the continued closure of the only road leading into the festival site, we were left with no choice but to cancel the event,” organizers said in a statement released Tuesday. “We apologize sincerely for this inconvenience and hope to see all of you at great live music and events in the near future.”

According to the statement, a separate notice will be sent to ticket holders concerning refunds.

The event was set to replace the annual Harvest Music Festival, which earlier this year merged with Phases of the Moon, an event that launched in 2014 at Kennekuk County Park just outside Danville, Illinois.

Three days of live music and camping were planned for the event, which was to take place Oct. 16-18 on Mulberry Mountain.

Headliners were set to include The Disco Biscuits, STS9 “Axe the Cables,” moe., Yonder Mountain String Band, Beats Antique, and more.

Tickets were priced at $164.45 for a three-day pass or $524.95 for a VIP pass.

The event was co-produced by Pipeline Productions, the team behind Wakarusa, Harvest Music Festival, and Thunder on the Mountain, which was canceled 10 days before the event was set to begin this year.
