Police said a man robbed the Northwest Arkansas Federal Credit Union at 1460 N. Woolsey Ave. just before 3 p.m. The suspect reportedly left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and may have entered the VA campus.

Police are using a K9 unit to search the scene, according to KNWA.

A text message sent to VA staff warned all employees to remain in their offices until the area is secure.

From the text message:

Attention: The Credit Union in Fayetteville has been robbed and the suspect is believed to be on campus at the medical center. VHSO is requesting all staff in Fayetteville to please shelter in place. Please close all doors and remain in offices until the area has been cleared. A notification will be sent when normal activity is to resume.
