Third annual Kessler Trail Run set for Nov. 7

One of the most scenic running events in the region is back for a third year.

The Kessler Trail Run, a 10K and 20K race on the trails surrounding Kessler Mountain in Fayetteville, will return on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The event, organized by the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association, is a fundraiser to help the FNHA make good on their commitment to raise $300,000 to help offset the city’s cost to purchase the 328 acres known as the Kessler Mountain Reserve. The city purchased the land for $3 million in 2014.

The events will start at 9 a.m. on the east side of Kessler Mountain at the trailhead on Judge Cummings Road and will finish on the west side near the Fayettechill warehouse (in the old Ozark Smokehouse building), located at 1725 S. Smokehouse Trail.

The post-run party will be held at the finish line area on the west side of the mountain at around 10:30 a.m., and will feature food and drinks from local vendors and live music by folk artist Justin Leflar.

Cost for the 10k run is $30, and the 20k is $40. You can also just come to the after party for $10. Online registration is now open.
