Longtime local resident and well-known live music fan Ralph Odom lost everything but his life and his pets when his home caught fire recently.

Now, several of the bands that have moved Ralph (affectionately known as the Giant Mountain Troll) to dance at George’s over the years are coming together to help him move into a new place.

Local bands Dawn Cate and the Rhythm Kings, Earls Garage, Leah & The Mojo Doctors, Oreo Blue, The Nace Brothers, and The Cate Brothers will perform at a benefit titled “The Buckeye Jam: A Benefit for Ralph Odom” on Sunday, Nov. 1 from around 2-11 p.m. at George’s.

Doors open at 1 p.m., and music starts at 2 p.m. Snacks will be provided by Yazzetti’s, and there will be a silent auction as well.

Admission is a $5 minimum donation (but those who can give more are encouraged to do so). All of the proceeds from the event will go towards helping Ralph get back on his feet after the fire.
