After giving it a go for about a year, The Green Submarine will soon close its location on Dickson Street.

The restaurant, located at 402 W. Dickson St. in the building formerly home to bars like Rogue, The Phoenix and The Gypsy, could resurface elsewhere.

“We are closing the Dickson Street location at the end of the night Saturday (Oct. 31),” said franchise owner Brian Chaisson. “We are working hard to move to a new location but don’t have any specifics yet.”

The closure has an effect on the adjacent Shulertown Food Truck court because the restaurant had been operating the outdoor beer garden that services Shulertown customers. The restrooms inside Green Submarine have also been used by food truck patrons.

Building owner Zac Wooden said he has a few parties interested in leasing the space, and is hopeful that a new tenant will be in place soon enough for a seamless transition. In the meantime, Wooden said he plans to keep the outdoor bar open.

Green Submarine’s original location at 3315 W. Wedington Drive, owned by founder Nathan Jendeski, will remain open.
